Shipping Information

Shipping is not currently a standard service on Discount Depot Auctions. Unless an auction or individual lot specifically states that shipping is available, bidders should assume the purchase requires local pickup. As shipping options are added, eligibility and costs will be clearly disclosed before bidding.

Simple rule: if the auction or lot does not clearly say Shipping Available, plan to pick the item up in person. Do not bid assuming an exception can be made later.

Check the lot before bidding

Shipping eligibility may depend on the auction, the individual lot, size, weight, fragility, value, destination, or carrier restrictions. The auction and lot pages are the source of truth.

Large items are generally pickup only

Furniture, appliances, oversized merchandise, assembled items, very heavy lots, and other freight-type purchases should be treated as local pickup unless the listing specifically provides another option.

Shipping costs are separate

When shipping is offered in the future, the buyer should expect to be responsible for applicable carrier charges and any disclosed packaging, handling, insurance, signature, or service fees. Exact charges will depend on the shipping method and lot.

Use the correct delivery address

If shipping is offered, bidders are responsible for maintaining an accurate deliverable address and following any address-verification requirements. Restrictions may apply to PO boxes, alternate addresses, or high-value shipments.

Shipping takes additional time

A shipped item may not leave immediately after the auction closes. Payment, pickup operations, packaging, carrier processing, and handling time can all affect the ship date. Any published timeline is an estimate unless expressly guaranteed.

Pickup remains the default

If a lot is not shipping-eligible, the winning bidder remains responsible for payment and timely pickup under the auction terms. Deciding after the auction that pickup is inconvenient does not cancel a winning bid.

When shipping becomes available

We plan to introduce shipping selectively, beginning with items that can be packaged and sent reasonably through common carriers. The auction or lot will identify shipping availability before you bid. Furniture and other large merchandise may remain pickup only even after shipping launches.

Before bidding from outside the area

  • Confirm that the lot explicitly offers shipping.
  • Review the auction's payment and shipping terms.
  • Consider packaging, carrier, insurance, handling, and destination costs.
  • Do not assume multiple wins can be combined into one shipment unless that option is offered.
  • Contact us before bidding if shipping eligibility is unclear.
